Deacon Dan
Dan Hughes and his wife Ruth came to St. Martin's in October of 1998.
They both became very involved with the people and the church very quickly. In January 1999 Dan was elected to the Vestry. After serving for two years he was elected as Junior Warden for 2 years then elected to Senior Warden.
As Dan was serving as Senior Warden he was encouraged to pursue ordination to the Diaconate. In May of 2003 Dan started the discernment process. In January of 2004 he was granted permission by the Bishop to enter Deacon School in the Diocese of Chicago.
On February 3, 2007 Dan was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in the Episcopal Church of America. He is currently serving as a Deacon at St. Martin's.
Dan feels that St. Martin's Church is an organization that is being lead by the Holy Spirit and it is a Church that is working hard to follow the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dan looks forward to a long and fruitful ministry as a Deacon serving God and His people.
